8-9 Days in Peru Itinerary Help
Hello,
I'm currently planning a trip to Peru for 8-9 (maybe even 10, if needed) days beginning in mid-April. My current (tentative) plan is:
- Fly into Lima, followed by another flight to Cusco right away
- 2 days in Cusco to explore and acclimate (recommendations while here?)
- Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu
- Fly back to Lima, take PeruHop night bus to Huaraz
- Spend 1-2 days in Huaraz, doing day hikes (recommendations for hostels, day trips, etc?)
- Bus back to Lima and fly home
Is this all doable in my allotted time frame? I really enjoy hiking/being in the outdoors and would love for any recommendations (day trips, hostels, food, etc.) for me while in Cusco and Huaraz. Also, is it worth going all the way to Huaraz for just 1-2 days or would something like Arequipa be more worthwhile? In regards to the Salkantay trek, are there any reputable touring companies that you all would recommend? I just want to see as much of Peru as possible in the short time frame while also doing the Salkantay trek. Thanks in advance for the help!!
