So I need some help picking a destination for my upcoming trip. I've got January 18th thru Feb 10th off work. I'm just torn about where to travel to. Maybe you can give me some suggestions on where to go?
I've been to a few places... Morroco, Nepal, India, Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Thailand... but I've always met up with a tour group (Intrepid) and done a small group tour with a few other people and a guide. The last trip I was underwhelmed by the group tours and decided to go completely solo next time.
Some thoughts:
- No significant time on boats this trip (I was stuck on a yacht for 10 days with 17 other people on my last trip).
- I'm an introvert. But am fine interacting with people... just need my private time after a few hours.
- I'm a morning person... I love getting up early and taking pictures of the sunrise, preferably from the rooftop of someplace with a view.
- I don't drink. So I'm not interested in party destinations for the sake of partying.
- I'm not very great with learning languages... I mostly only speak English but try to learn one or two basic phrases on each trip. I'm comfortable traveling where English is not commonly spoken.
- I like traveling between several places each trip. I like variety.
- I'd like to go somewhere where it's not too cold. so places too far north probably aren't desirable. Snow it only okay if it's in the mountains.
- I'd be okay going back to Nepal or Morocco, but I'm not sure how to spend my time there.
- I'm a 36-year-old single white dude from the United States... so somewhere friendly to my demographic is preferred.
- My budget it something like $5k.
Anyway, how should I spend my 3 weeks? I'm up for just about anything.
