New Orleans weather this weekend looks pretty horrendous, should I still go?
Hi all, I have a flight booked this weekend (flight leaves and arrives tomorrow morning) for New Orleans and planned on spending the weekend there in a hostel in the French Quarter. Unfortunately, the weather is terrible right now, there is a flash flood warning and tornado watches all throughout Louisiana including New Orleans. Is it even worth it to go? Luckily, I live in a relatively close state so my flight was fairly cheap, and the hostel wasn't very expensive either, so if I didn't go I'd probably be wasting $150 at most. Should I just go some other time? I'd really like to go, and I'm not necessarily afraid of the weather, but I don't know how much I'll be able to walk around and whether things will be closed or not. Any advice would be appreciated.
Edit: for clarity, my plan is to stay in a hostel in the french quarter, then walk to a few of the highlights in the french quarter (jackson square, cafe du monde, a few restaurants, maybe the WW2 museum), then do a hostel pub crawl at night, rinse and repeat for the rest of the weekend.
