Me and 3-4 other friends are planning to do a big road trip across the USA from New Jersey to California and back over the summer since we are all over 18 now and want to do something like this before time becomes an issue . At first we were going to do this in around 2 weeks but we realized this is not enough time to do this trip comfortably and now have around 22-25 days to do this trip. For lodging we are planning to do camping some nights and couch surfing other nights as this to us will give us more of an experience while doing this trip by meeting new people, really getting a chance to enjoy the landscapes, and it will also save a bit of money. Denver to Yosemite National Park Yosemite to San Francisco San Francisco to Los Angeles Los Angeles to Calipatria(Salvation Mountain/Slab City) Calipatria to Death Valley Death Valley to Las Vegas?(we are all under 21 so not sure if it’s worth it or not) Las Vegas to Grand Canyon Grand Canyon to Albuquerque Albuquerque to Dallas Dallas to Nashville Nashville to New Jersey.
We tried to make most of the driving in the beginning and end since we want to spend most of our time in the west since we live on the east coast. We are all willing to drive far for this and plan to do sleeping shifts for those long drives in the beginning and end. Thank you for taking your time to read this and sorry about the long post
