Is a 2-door Jeep Wrangler a good option for a shorter road trip (3ish weeks)?
My partner and I are both very keen on getting a wrangler and the 4-door which would be more suitable with the extra boot space and roof racks for a rooftop tent but is a bit out of the budget range so we’re looking at the 2-door version.
We prefer the look of the 2-door and the style but we don’t know if it has the sort of boot space to carry all gear that we might need for a few weeks and the strength in the roof (which I hear isn’t too strong and can be fibreglass) to support a roof rack to carry a rooftop tent.
We’re keen on the rooftop tent as it saves a lot of space and is quite useful but we don’t know if the length of the 2-door is sufficient to support one let alone be strong enough.
I’d love any opinions on it or other options for good cars that aren’t too massive as we’ve looked at things like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol but they feel a bit too big and truck like, even though it’d do the job well, plus we both love Jeeps.
