Vegas-to-Vegas road trip advice? Clockwise or Counter clockwise?
I am planning to take my wife and parents (both 60+) on a road trip from Vegas. Duration 3.5-4 days (Sun morning - Wed night)
Want to hit GC South rim, Page (Horseshoe and slot canyons), Bryce Canyon, and Zion NP. Since parents are with me, we'll be just doing a drive through (car/NP shuttles), and stoppages at Vista points (no hikes)
Should I do:
Clockwise: Vegas - Zion - Bryce - Page - South Rim - Vegas
- Day 1 - Drive to South Rim, see sunset, sleep at South rim hotel
- Day 2 - Hit South Rim vista points, drive up to Page, sunset at Horseshoe, sleep in Page
- Day 3 - Morning Antelope canyon tour, drive up to Bryce, see sunset, drive down to a hotel near Zion (Kanab most probably), sleep there
- Day 4 - Zion shuttle tour, drive down to Vegas
or
Anti clockwise: Vegas - South Rim - Page - Bryce - Zion - Vegas?
Haven't figured out itinerary for this yet, but broadly it'll be reverse of the first one.
Day 3 is proving to be a problem, because budget hotels are extremely difficult to find between Bryce and Zion, and I'm having to drive all the way down to Kanab.
any and all suggestions are welcome :)
