Advice Wanted: Victoria to Halifax
Hi r/roadtrip!
At the beginning of September I’m packing a few bags into my 2017 Escape, and moving across country with my little bully!
Trying to plan out the best route, I was going to go through the US, but my bully needs an update on her vaccines which I’ll be doing once I get to Nova Scotia. We won’t be allowed into the US because of this. This update will cost $170, if going through the US will save me that in fuel then I’ll do it, but not quite sure how to work the math out. My escape is not an EcoBoost, she’s not the most fuel efficient.
How long can I actually expect to drive for each day without falling asleep at the wheel? Is there campsites near the main highways, or will it mostly be Airbnb’s? How easy is it to wing it, or should I have each day planned all before I go?
Any tips are greatly appreciated!
