West coast road trip
Hi all! So me and a good friend of mine are travelling from Ireland to USA next week for a long holiday. We're flying in to NYC then making a few planes hops to various places as we journey west. The main thing I'm aiming to do is to spend 3-4 weeks driving up the Pacific coast from San Diego to Seattle. I predominantly want to stick as close to the coast as possible (what with us being pasty white Irish types i figure its best for us to be near water otherwise we may end up evaporating) butt journeying inland occasionally to see some of the national parks. At the minute we haven't got a solid plan of where we are going, we're just happy to see where the road takes us so if anyone has any places the recommend bar the big obvious cities we'd love to hear about them. We are both musicians and enjoy love music of all sorts. We also both work in film so extra points for film locations to visit! On another note, i was looking into renting a car in San Diego and leaving it off in Seattle 4 weeks later but not sure if it's cheap/better to do shorter stints of car hire. Thoughts? I didn't mean for this to go on for so long! But thanks for your input!
