As mentioned above I will be taking a 1.5 week vacation to go from Omaha to San Diego and then drive up (or possibly down) the coast. However my itinerary is open and I want to fly at least one length on a one way ticket (either or there or back) and drive the other length. I would really like to hit the Grand Canyon.

Suggestions on trip routes? What’s worth seeing? Is it worth spending less time on the coast and driving to see Yosemite? Or possibly doing the coast drive fast and spending more time on the drive around Grand Canyon or through Utah on the way home?
