I-80 in December
Specifically, Chicago to Arches/Canyonlands in Utah. This would have us going through Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado en route to the parks. We'd then be going south to Monument Valley and on to San Francisco.
Obviously I can't predict the weather. I know it can change on a dime.
Does anyone have any tips for driving at this time of year in these parts? My husband has done I-80 cross country in December and January before but had little to no snow issues. We have chains and snow tires. We have a first aid kit, emergency kit, jumpers, tire inflators, etc.
If you've done the trip at that time of year, what advice/suggestions do you have?
