17 days - Ottawa to the Eastern Coast States
In September, I'll be spending 17 days on a road trip with a good buddy of mine. We'll be leaving from Ottawa, Canada and following along or close to the coast of the Eastern states.
We both haven't been to any of the Eastern states, so we're looking for suggestions on excellent road trip ideas.
- We want to spend time on the lakes and the ocean
- Some hiking would be cool
- We're into History
- We're foodies
- We love craft beer and products of local distilleries
- We're into anything strange or unique
- Theme parks and thrill rides!
- We love integrating with the local culture
- Backroads and small towns are great, we don't want to be rushing this trip
- We don't want to spend the entire trip driving
- We're not picky about where we stay, we're fine with hostels, AirBnB (unique options too), camping, lodges, etc...
- We want to avoid driving through or around New York City
Essentially, we're wondering how far we should go without spending our entire trip driving, just keeping it balanced, but without wasting any time!
