Two week trip to Turkey in July. Okay use of time?
Hey guys, I decided on a solo trip to Turkey just this week as a graduation gift to myself. Because it's already May, plane tickets are expensive and I'm kinda bound by when they're affordable.
I have gathered Istanbul and Cappadocia are the must sees! Below is an affordable route (departure/arrival times in parentheses):
Day 1 (..:.. - 12:00): .. - Antalya Day 5 (18:30 - 20:00): Antalya - Cappadocia (Erkilet) Day 9 (10:30 - 12:00): Cappadocia - Istanbul Day 15 (17:00): Leave for home
I've heard great things about Antalya (mainly Kas from a Turkish friend), I enjoy the beach and scenic walks so seems like a good fit, but I'm a bit afraid of the massive influx of July tourists.
Do I spend too long / too short some places? Also, any alternative routes are appreciated, but it seems best for me to land in Antalya. I can land in Istanbul, but then it will be a late arrival (was planning to stay in Istanbul for the final part of the trip). Is overnight bus travel something I should consider? Thanks for your attention
