On June 6th I land in Bangkok, Thailand. I have a budget of £4500 ($6100) and no return flight. What would you do?
My outgoing flight is booked, I have a preliminary budget of £4500, but I also will receive £450 each month on top of my budget, so I will have more than £4500 in total, depending on how long I travel for.
I know I will spend most of my first month in Thailand to make the most of my 30 days visa exemption. I expect I'll spend the next 30 days in Cambodia. (I visited both countries in 2013)
That's as far as my plan has got, and will go. The only hotel I plan to book in advance is for my first few nights in Bangkok, everything else will be improvised. I'll mostly be staying in cheap hotels and hostels (but occasionally might treat myself to something a little nicer). I like my privacy and security so won't be doing hostels all the time.
But I'd like to see your suggestions. Where would you go, and for how long, on this budget ?
I've been to Bangkok, Koh Samet, Koh Chang, Chantaburi, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap before and want to see them again, but there's so much I missed last time!
Just to add, I have no return flight but that won't come out of my £4500 budget, it will come out of the money I'll get each month. I expect to pay between 200-300 quid for the flight back, I'll be able to put that aside easy.
