Advice on finding a reasonable safari in East Africa (or beyond) this summer
Hi,
I have a conference in Kenya in August and I'm planning on coming to to Africa (port of entry TBD) a couple of weeks prior to the conference for a bit of traveling and a safari. Having trouble finding a reasonable one that allows for solo travelers though.
Where I fly into will depend on the safari and such, so I'm ok flying into Kenya, Tanzania, or further afield (Botswana) if the safari is good and meets my desires
I'd like the following:
- 8-10 days
- Ok with a solo traveler (I'm fine with other folks around, but I'll be traveling on my own)
- Not unreasonably expensive (less than $3000 ideally)
- At least a few days staying in the same location (many of them seem to emphasize racing all over the place, which is not really all that relaxing or educational)
I work in environmental conservation and have spent a lot of time in all sorts of different countries and conditions, so I'm fine with roughing it, but I'm not looking to rent my own car and drive around.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
