Recommendations for itinerary going from Munich to Croatia?
Hello! This June I will be doing a graduate student exchange program in Split, Croatia for two weeks. I'm looking to explore some other places in this part of Europe while I'm there.
Unfortunately I don't have too much additional time off of school, but I've booked a flight to Munich a week before my study abroad starts. My idea is to train/ bus down to Split over the span of a week, exploring along the way.
Details: -Going from Munich, Germany to Split, Croatia over the course of 7 days
-I've never been to Europe, but have traveled around the US and to India. I feel fairly competent traveling alone but places that are easier to get around might be a better idea.
-I like hiking/ being in the mountains- kinda hoping to go into the Alps a bit, but also I'm open to anything really
My ideas: -train or bus from Munich to Bled, Slovenia (I've heard really great things about Slovenia). Stay there for a few days, then go down to Zagreb and Split
-Train from Munich to Salzburg for a couple days, then to Vienna for a couple days, then down to Split. I have a friend who lives in Vienna but I'm worried this is trying to pack in too much?
-Go down straight to Split and spend a couple days island hopping in the area. However- I will be there for two weeks and I think I'll have time to do this during my student exchange.
Any thoughts, input or other ideas are greatly appreciated! Also ideas for stuff to do in Split while I'm there would also be great! Thanks
