Hey all! I'll be going solo to Portugal and Spain this June. My flight will be from Amsterdam to Porto, from there I'll go down to Lisbon, Lagos, Seville, Granada and then Barcelona. My schedule is extremely flexible; I'm a student and will be on vacation for a few months. I've already booked my flight to Porto, and a few hostels(Porto, Lisbon and Lagos) that have a free cancellation option.

The problem is, I don't know exactly how long I want to stay in each city/town. I already have a rough idea-Porto 3 nights with a daytrip to the Duro Valley, Lisbon 4 nights with a daytrip to Sintra, Lagos 3 nights with a day spent kayaking, maybe some scuba diving at Costa Brava...maybe 17 days total...but I won't know until I'm there if I will love the city or want to move on asap.

How do you guys keep it flexible? When do you book the return airticket? What about accommodation? I'm afraid if I book too late I wont be able to get a good hostel/good prices. What do you do if you decide you want to stay in a city for a longer time?

Any thoughts on the places I'll be visiting?
