Planning first solo trip to Iceland. Need advice and suggestions.
Ok, so I'm planning on a trip late May/early June of next year, but I wanted to get the ball rolling now. I'd like to get some expert opinions on a few things. I'm leaving from the U.S.; Michigan to be exact and was planning on flying Delta since I prefer them when i do travel, but wanted to know if others have flown another airline that may have been cheaper but still reliable.
Length of stay: 5-7 days (most likely 5)
Budget: Approx. $3,000
I'm planning on renting a car to really explore the island as some have suggested. I've done some research on locations, but I don't have a plan yet of which cities to go to and must-see areas and attractions, so if you have suggestions that would be helpful too.
Also, I've never stayed in a hostel but understand that they can be much cheaper than a hotel. So, again, if anyone has a suggestion on a particular one in a desired city, and/or pertinent info one should know prior to booking one.
Packing: Gonna travel light, so a medium-sized travel backpack.
