Munich -> Prague -> Budapest
Hi r/solotravel!
25M (will be 26 in a couple weeks).
After lurking this sub for the past month or so, I'm finally starting to put together my itinerary and purchasing flights.
As the title suggests, I'm planning a solo trip to Munich, Prague, and Budapest.
I've never traveled solo. Whenever I did, it was with family as a little kid too busy with his Pokemon Red on GameBoy or with some good friends of mine.
I'm looking to push my boundaries here and do it all alone. The thought frightens me and at the same time I am just so curious. I am usually an independent person. I have no trouble being alone. I like to think I'm alone but not lonely, if that makes sense.
Although I wouldn't mind some company, this is something that I have some fear in regards to doing and I think it would be a great opportunity to get to know myself a little better and obviously, the rest of the world.
I plan on leaving in October.
Travel Dates: October 4 - October 18.
Munich: 10/4 - 10/8
Prague: 10/9 - 10/13
Budapest: 10/14 - 10/18
Pretty much want to spend 4-5 days each in each country. I don't think I'll be under a time-constraint to check out what I want to in each place.
As for housing, I was thinking of doing a hostel for Munich (Euro Youth) and have some people to enjoy Oktoberfest with. I'm still trying to get comfortable with the idea of a hostel. I feel like having roommates was a college thing and I'm definitely past all that. But at the same time, some company probably wouldn't hurt. Idk, still iffy.
I'll probably do a hostel for Prague as well, but for Budapest I'd like to be alone to enjoy the scenery, so I'll do an AirBnB.
Are there must see spots for any of the 3 countries? What can I avoid? Any tips?
Please let me know! What do you guys think so far with my plan?
