Itinerary Critique - Guatemala/Belize
Hola everyone! I am going to be spending a little over 3 months from May-August in Guatemala/Belize. This is my first big solo travel (only other one way 2 weeks in Mexico City, which really got me the travel bug). Below is my itinerary. If you have any suggestions/critiques I am open to any. I am doing the typical backpacker loop it looks like. The first four weeks I am at an intensive Spanish Academy, then for the 6 weeks following I will be at Lake Atitlan doing a workaway at a hostel in San Marcos. If you think any more information would be useful please let me know! Or any suggestions for things to do would be greatly appreciated.
Day 1-Arrive in Guatemala City at 1PM, take 3PM Linea Dorada bus to Xela.
Week 1-4 Xela, Guatemala - Sol Latino Spanish School - homestay with Guatemalan family ^ trip to Fuentes Georgianas and ChiChi market on two of the weekends, with one free weekend remaining. Any suggestions?
Week 4-10 San Marcos La Laguna, Lake Atitlan - workaway as a receptionist at a hostel. Have around 26 hours of work a week, with 2 days off to explore all the other cities every week. Any must see/must do here?
