Hi solo travelers. I'm here in paris and have bought some wine and liquor to take home. I'm planning on shipping it but just in case there's an issue with that I may have to put it in my bag and check it.

For some reason I get the feeling checking can be a hassle, but I'm pretty sure this idea is coming from my dad who, not unlike myself,is a no-frills, get where you're going type of guy. I have one layover in Chicago, about 4 hrs., is there any logical reason I should be afraid to check my bag, or am I being silly?
