While some things in Japan were stupid expensive like road tolls, parking and alcohol from a bar, I was pretty surprised at how easy it was to eat out and entertain yourself on a reasonable budget.

For the other way round it was definitely Brazil. Virtually everything cost more there than we'd planned.
