I will be spending July 2nd-20th in Greece.

First, I am trying to decide if I should just purely backpack around for that entire time OR I have been talking to someone on workaway about volunteering in Samothraki for about a week and a half. Pros to volunteering: cheaper (very small budget), get to know locals well & one Island well. Pros to backpacking around: see more of the country, more freedom can be more sporadic and plan day of which is always fun

If I do decide to just backpack around, whats a good route to take? What are some good off the beaten path places to check out?
