Questions regarding spending during a Southeast Asia trip I am planning
Im 21(M) and I have recently decided I am going to go travelling with my £5000/$7000 of savings. I will be paying for flights and equipment with some other savings. The £5000 that I have for travelling will only be used as spending money once I have set foot into Southeast Asia.
I am looking to fly out from London around mid-September onwards to Hanoi where I hope to stay in Vietnam for 5 weeks travelling from North to South. From there I will bus from HCMC to Cambodia and I plan to stay here for 3+ weeks travelling around the country and seeing the sights. I will then either go from Cambodia to Laos or Cambodia to Thailand.
What I really need help with is knowing how far my budget will take me. Ideally I want to be away for a minimum of 3 months and I know that that £5000 spending will take me much further than that but I want to get a rough idea of how far that actually is? I don't really care what happens once I'm in SE Asia, I'm pretty go-with-the-flow about it all. I just would like to have a realistic expectation of the duration I could be away for.
Could anyone give me a bit of information as to if this amount of money would see me away for 5-6 months comfortably? Or would I be better to have an extremely comfortable 3-4 months travelling SE Asia?
