First solo trip: Belgium or Barcelona/Portugal?
I am in the semi-unique position of getting free United Airlines flights for free as my dad is a flight attendant. However, I can only ride standby, which means I can only fly if there are open seats.
I am planning on leaving on my first longer solo trip next week and had my heart set on Portugal, but the flights are all overbooked. So the next option would be to fly to Barcelona (open seats), spend a few days there, and then buy a flight to Portugal. However, I'm a little scared to deal with two airports and navigate two countries on my own and would also have to pay for a ~$80 flight between the countries which I guess is an extra cost.
The next option is Belgium, because the flights are open. Belgium seems easier as it is a small country and has a great rail system.
I would stay in hostels in either option and basically just like sight-seeing. Not into partying so much. I am a 22F btw.
Which would you choose?
