I'm in the early planning stages of my first solo trip, and one decision I haven't made yet is whether it would be better to start with a city or a small village/cabin/camping location.

In the past I have really enjoyed traveling to both types of destinations (as part of a couple or group), so I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of each.

  • Was your first solo trip to a city or to a smaller/more remote destination?
  • Is there a benefit to choosing one over the other since I don't have experience as a solo traveler?
