Best First Solo Travel - September - $2000 budget after ticket
I'm looking for location suggestions, ANY travel tips for solo travel or money saving finds, and exciting suggestions for the following:
I'm taking myself on my first solo out-of-country trip as a 30th Birthday present to myself. A friend has offered to take care of my ticket as long as it can be covered with miles. My budget is about $2000, possibly a little more by early-to-mid September.
My general interests are flying (working on my private license), hiking, drinking (partial to whiskey and wine), live music (I used to sing opera, have a degree in audio engineering, love good jazz and blues and EDM, etc. really any good live music), literature, art (I can sit in a good museum all day), love trying new food, and get a lady boner when trying new, exciting things or experiencing new cultures. If I can do something I've never done before, I'm supremely happy. I'd call myself an adrenaline junkie lite.
I want to avoid beaches (almost every vacation I've taken has been to a different beach in Mexico or California). Places that have both the city and places to hike in close proximity are optimal. I don't mind touristy planned group trips, but that's not really what I'm looking for this time. I'd say I make friends easily when I'm on my own in places that are friendly.
Thus far I'm looking into: Ireland (safe for a female and relatively cheap), Prague, Warsaw, and Serbia (Belgrade).
Have eliminated: Cape Town (won't be covered by miles), Italy / Turkey / India / France (I'd like to save these as trips I take with someone).
