3 weeks in the Balkans/Central Europe - looking for input please
Hi folks,
I've just had 3 weeks approved off work and I'm planning to go on a little trip into Central Europe. I'm from England so flights are fairly cheap and short duration.
As a bit of background, I went to Dubrovnik, Mostar, Split and Hvar last year. I absolutely loved my time there and I regretted not having time to see more of Bosnia especially (such as Sarajevo). For this reason, I will be returning to Mostar for a few days then going on to Sarajevo.
I have 23 days, and my current plan looks like this:
-
Fly from England to Dubrovnik on Saturday 14th July, arriving at 12noon. Get a coach to Mostar at 4pm, arriving at 7/8pm, then...
-
Mostar, Bosnia [3 nights] - this will be mostly to chill out a bit. I absolutely love Hostel Majdas so I will be staying there hopefully.
-
Sarajevo, Bosnia [3 nights]
-
Belgrade, Serbia [3 nights]
-
Budapest, Hungary [3 nights] - definitely feel Budapest deserves more time but I had 4 days there last year so this will be more of a chill.
-
Ljubljana, Slovenia [5 nights] - not sure how much time is needed here, I want to hike around and see all the highlights. I'm not cemented to Ljubljana of course once I arrive.
-
Bratislava [2 nights] - this is mostly so I can avoid an a huge train journey but also will be cool to see some of Slovakia.
-
Prague [4 nights].
-
Fly from Prague back to England on Sunday 5th August, departing at 9pm.
Please can you good folks give me some feedback, ideas, recommendations (hostels particuilarly) - anything really! I am cautious that I am going to be travelling a fair bit, but none of the journeys are hideously long and I want to make sure each place gets more than 1 or 2 days if possible. Nothing is booked yet, so everything is changeable.
Thanks all,
Brad
