3-5 week road trip. seeking advice.
Whats up everyone! I was recently accepted into a grad program, and could not be more elated. In the past 15 months of working, I have done a really good job saving money, and I came up with this idea. I am thinking about putting in my two weeks near the beginning of July, and giving myself around a month and a half of free time before starting school. I have ~$2000 budget I can use during this time. I am really excited by the idea of getting a national parks pass, starting in Southern California, and heading all the way up to coast to Washington. Along the way I would love to spend time in the national parks, do a bunch of hiking, and spend a good deal of time camping. I have a few friends along the way I would love to see, and a gym membership to Anytime Fitness which gives me access to showers. I have done my fair share of camping, however I have not done much backpacking, and my gear is more suited toward pulling up in a car and staying put. There are a few things that are on my mind that I would like some feedback with. 1) Is my budget reasonable? 2) Believe it or not, I am a bit hesitant this is too much time, and I will eventually get bored. I ride the line between type a and type b, so while I can do "go with the flow," I rather enjoy structure. 3) Is there anything I should make a point of seeing or doing. 4) Any other suggestions, tips or tricks.
