Traveling to NYC/philly middle of March for a week with a skateboard. Recommendations on what to do that isn’t a typical touristy agenda?
Brand new to the sub so sorry if I mess this up.
I’m a 23 year old male flying back east from western US for my cousins wedding just outside NYC. I used to live there when I was much younger, and have taken many trips back to New York and Philadelphia, knocking out most of the famous tourist attractions.
First item of business: is bringing my skateboard a good idea for faster transportation and exploring, or will it be more of an inconvenience due to weather and/or road conditions? I’m no professional, but I can get from point A to B no problem and can Ollie curbs and whatnot as well.
Second: I have a place to stay with a family friend in manhattan, and another to stay with in Philadelphia, so housing is not a problem either, but I am also open to getting a place somewhere else for a night if someone recommends somewhere a little further away from those points. I would love to explore the real parts of both places that I normally wouldn’t know about, and I am very open to new things/places/ideas/etc.
If anyone has any experience at all skateboarding anywhere as their travel method between trains and buses, I would love to hear your feedback on how it went!
