Traveling to a foreign land - Lets compare experiences!
So to start with a little background about myself, I have lived in the United States my whole life and have recently been travelling the past 4 months to places I never thought I'd be. I'm 20 and am taking a semester off of school to travel for 6 months. So far I have been to places such as South Korea, Turkey, and Thailand. For the first half of the trip I was travelling with two friends and for the next two months I will be travelling alone. Finishing with Thailand I will be headed to Kuala Lampur. Now. The issue I think I have come across is that when I go to places like these that are so foreign, I find it troublesome to make the most out of my experience due to the following reasons: -I can't speak the language -I don't know of the cool lowkey places that only the people of this city know about (Personally not interested in the mainstream tourist attractions) -Even with services like Uber, transportation for me is not so easy, due to above reasons.
So what I'm asking here really is: Does anyone else feel this way when travelling? I am considering hiring a travel agent or something similar and wondering what people's experiences have been. Does anyone use travel agents here for help? Please I'd love and appreciate all feedback I can get from anyone!
Thank you all for reading and I'm excited to read your comments!
