Traveling to Beijing as a non-asian
Hello everyone, first post here. In the spur-of-the-moment I bought a ticket to Beijing in mid-April, I'll be staying for two weeks. I'm an American-Hispanic male in his early 20's. I'm not worried about being there alone, I just want to know how I'll be treated as a non-Asian. I'll be staying via Airbnb, no hostels.
I've been to Japan and everyone was nothing but friendly to me and willing to help (although we were denied service at a restaurant before even stepping foot inside). I know that Japan and China are two completely different countries and that China is a massive country with big cultural differences depending on the region.
Anything I read online makes it out to be fine as a foreigner. Is there anything I should know or be careful of? My skin tone is light brown if that makes a difference.
I hope this post doesn't come off as ignorant, I genuinely want to be prepared.
