Should I take (relative) baby-steps, or just dive in?
Either this year or next year I am planning on completing the ABC trek in Nepal (without a guide).
This would be my first solo travel adventure as well as my first real multi-day trek.
Do you think I would be better working my way up to it? I'm from Scotland, so I was thinking of doing the West Highland Way this summer and maybe going somewhere warmer in Europe for a week or two after that to properly experience both multi-day trekking and solo travel without experiencing both for the first time all at once. And then I can go to Nepal next year more confident. Does this seem like a good idea?
-- Additional thoughts/Questions --
Are there any other treks that you would recommend for someone going it alone? Or any recommendations for chasing the sun this summer? I was considering going to the Canary Islands and hiring a bike for a couple of weeks.
I'm sorry this is a bit of a ramble. I'm just finally in a position to travel and I want to get the most out of it without pushing myself too far.
Thanks in advance.
