life epiphany while solo traveling? How has it changed you or altered your path of life, if at all?
At 18 I joined the Army National Guard to pay for college and managed to go three years without any military disruption. However, after my junior year, I deployed overseas (spring 2017). Finally....and I mean finally.......I will be returning in a few weeks. I definitely intend on finishing my undergraduate, but I’m unsure what’s next. Mostly because this deployment gave me a chance to reflect on everything (life) at a very young age and look at things from a different perspective.
It seems so cliché, however, I want to escape. I’m frightened of the 9-5, white picket fence, American pitfall. I have this urge to go against the grain and establish a different life that opposes the traditional demands of society. I want to live... & I desperately need inspiration.
I have a feeling many solo travelers have a very similar mindset, to some degree, or maybe someone has a similar story? I’m very interested in your experiences and how traveling impacted your life, as I am considering going off the radar for a bit. Please share! Thank you in advance.
