I'm going on a week-long roadtrip, and I'm looking for a dashcam with a particular feature for it.
Most dashcams I'm finding will fill up the SD card with segmented clips until it gets full, then it overwrites the oldest. I want to find one that records to a 5-10 minute buffer, and has a button I can press that drops the buffer into a file on the SD card.
While some dashcams do have 'hit button to save from overwrite', I have found this to not be that great, as the files you want to save are mixed in with dozens of files you don't want. Also, the part you want to save may be split up among several different files that you have to cut and paste together. Not ideal.
Other features are...negotiable. Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be a dashcam. A camcorder or action cam with that feature would also work, just as long as it's easily mountable in my car. Any help is appreciated.
