Last-minute change in plans—how can this 33M remix this trip to Switzerland?
So yada yada yada, the introducing-the-wife-to-Switzerland Spring Break trip will be lacking a wife (pours one out for a shot relationship), and I'm needing something to fill me with some joy. I have travelled alone in my younger days, but not for the last 10 years—I feel capable, but clearly, like I'll be missing my better half.
The itinerary we'd originally planned was mostly stuff I'd done in my past life, and was looking forward to doing with her:
- 3/15—SFO—GVA (via CDG)
- 3/16—Bernina Railway (via Zurich), night in Lugano
- 3/17-20—Lugano slowly to Interlaken area, then day trips to Bern, Gimmelwald, Mürren, Mt. Titlis, etc
- 3/21—Leaving GVA, layover day in Paris
- 3/22—CDG to SFO
Switzerland was appealing because she hadn't been there, but generally, all the places we were going to go, I've already gone. I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on how to remix the middle of my trip (non-bolded dates) into a new trip. Haven't done any other parts of France besides Paris, have checked out Italy super quickly during college, but hoping to find a fun scene. (PS—flights are non-refundable and unchangeable.)
Have always wanted to explore Croatia, Bosnia, and Morocco, but I can't imagine those are SUPER easy/quick to get to for a 4-5 day jaunt. Haven't ever been interested in the South of France or Spain, but maybe that's cool, especially for a Spring Break trip. Any suggestions or thoughts would be hugely appreciated.
