Cross country trip. Any tips appreciated!
So the plan originally was to drive from San Francisco (home) access I-80 and back. Then I thought why see the same stuff just in reverse? So I expanded just a bit.
Salt Lake City
Denver
Omaha
Chicago
Cleveland
New York City
Washington D.C.
Jacksonville
New Orleans
Austin
Las Cruces
San Diego
Phoenix
Ventura

SO! This is mostly solo. I am meeting up with a friend when I'm in NYC, and a friend is flying out for New Orleans and then Austin. I'll be in a 2016 Subaru Impreza hatchback/wagon (WTF IS THE DIFFERENCE I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT) with ~25k miles when I leave. I'm more focused on urban environments on this trip. I see a lot of talk of parks and such here, but I'm saving that for another trip. I wanna be a lame ass tourist. I'm staying mostly in AirBnbs, which are already booked. Sleeping in my car a few times.
I've got my bags broken down to three (clothes/toiletries in one, backpack with electronics and misc, and a cooler with a strap for essentials) so that when I park, I can grab everything in one move and go, leaving nothing in the car. I'll be leaving towards the end of March and getting back around the same time April
Any tips? Anything I should be doing or going to in each city? I've pretty much not strayed far from the west coast so I'm open for suggestions! Any way to combat driving fatigue? I've done long road trips before, lots of 5-7 hour ones, once about 13 hours. The one downfall is I don't have anyone to fall back on for driving duties. And since I've had to book my accommodations ahead of time, I won't have the luxury of staying somewhere for an extra day to recoup. Anything I'm just not thinking about? Or supplies I absolutely need? Sorry this is kind of disjointed, appreciate any help!
Edit: The weird bit at the end. I really wanted to see the Giants play somewhere besides San Francisco. I had to do San Diego and Phoenix backwards to line up with their schedule. And my sister lives in Ventura, thats just a quick visit and a free place to crash for a night before I head home.
Also adding that SLC and Omaha are get in, sleep, get out destinations. Jacksonville and Las Cruces are the same, but thats where I'll be sleeping in my car, didn't even bother with AirBnb or anything. All the other locations are one or two days and then I'm on to the next city
