Winter travel - MENA/SA other
Hey everyone,
Planning to take some holiday time during work and will have 8-10 days off to go somewhere. Timeframe is between late January and late February.
A few options that I've seen are Egypt, Lebanon, and Colombia, but am open to other locations. Ease of visa, weather, and transit time are important. Flight costs aren't a major concern, but would prefer a visa on arrival situation. Flying out of a major US hub in the Midwest. Can anyone provide input on the above or other options?
Interested in culture, food, history, languages, nature, and experiences. US passport holder.
I speak Spanish but very limited Arabic. Have already been to in each region: Ecuador, Morocco, and Jordan. Due to recent tensions, I feel Israel would best be left for later and I'd like more time to explore Palestine.
Country routes/highlights Egypt - Pyramids, Luxor, Nile Felucca ride, Abu Simbel, Cairo Lebanon - Byblos, Mleeta, les cedres, Baalbek, Beirut Colombia - Medellin, Guatape, coffee loop through Salento.
Any thoughts, advice, and inputs are welcome.
