Hey! I'm going to Japan and China on a solo trip following my graduation this summer. This is something that I've been planning and looking forward to for a long time.

I have not had much trouble planning the Japan portion of the trip, but I am struggling a little bit with China. I plan on spending about 3 weeks in China during the trip. I'm more of a city person than outdoorsy, so more of the places I have written down as stops are urban, but I definitely want to see at least a little bit of the less developed areas.

Currently, I have Beijing, Shanghai/Hangzhou/Huangshan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzen, Hong Kong, Hainan Island, and Chengdu as my probable stops. However, it is such a dense country to research, so I wanted to ask here to see if there was anywhere that's a "must-stop" location that I may be missing/if any of the places I listed were not necessary to visit this trip.
