Hi there! Long time lurker (23M), i really enjoy this subreddit and have found so much content for trips i have taken and plan to take. I will be in DC for work this week and was able to get my trip extended through the weekend so i can see the city. Unfortunately, their is a government shutdown (thanks trump) and i'm hearing the Smithsonian's will most likely be closed. Aside from walking along the National Mall, what recommendations do you guys have, to see in the city? Got to make the best of some terrible timing. A lot of cool spots will be closed and I was planning to spend my time in the capitol building and museums. I love history and architecture! I won't have a car, and will be staying in Eckington at an Airbnb that weekend. During the week I'll be at the national harbor at a conference center. Thanks!
