Indonesia trip, a few questions
Hey guys,
Very excited that the time has come where I think I’m ready to book my flights to Indonesia for my second solo trip.
To lay it out; I’m thinking of flying out to Yogyakarta in early July where I’d like to spend some time seeing the temples, soaking up the culture and generally settling in to my new surroundings.
From there I’d like to travel down the island of Java (probably by train or bus to see the countryside etc, as well as keeping it cheap) with the intention of getting the ferry over to Bali.
While I’m in Bali, I’d like to chill around the Island, do some surfing and exploring and hit the party towns like Kuta. I’d also like to see Ubud.
Basically I want to start at the top (not of the country but of my intended destinations) and have a linear journey to Bali with the intention of flying back from there.
Ideally I’d like to go for between 3-5 weeks (leaving on the 3rd of July most likely).
What I was hoping to hear from some experienced solo travellers is:
-How Long do you think I should go for? I don’t want to rush but on the other hand I’m not a millionaire -How much money should I aim to take? I’m not looking to do anything fancy at all, I want to stay in hostels, eat local food, drink local beer and do some tours (but will ditch tour guides if not required and exploring with other travellers is an option) -Anything critical do sort before I go? Vaccinations, visas, local travel? -Anything on the way which I should check out? General advice tips?
Thanks!
