Considering 3 weeks in Dubai in May. Should I? (20M)
Based on a whim, I was looking at flights to different places I want to go to in the future. Dubai sounds fun as far as I have heard and through Turkish Airlines, which I have also heard to be at least functional for my needs, I found a cheap roundtrip ticket for a 21 day stay in Dubai. I would consider going from May 8th to May 30th. 4-star hotels with solid reviews I have found to be as cheap as about $45 USD (cheaper than Motel 6, mind you) and I am not looking for anything extravagant, but sufficient and comfortable for that long of a stay.
First, should I go? This would be my first truly solo travel and I am a pretty cautious and situationally aware person so I am not worried about safety. I just want to know if this is a destination that would be desirable and I would be able to find enough affordable/free things to do or explore while I’m there. P.S. I do not drink so do not recommend bars or what have you.
I am not exactly in a position to be traveling around while I am there (as in to other cities or countries in the region) because May is my only available month to do anything fun. In truth, I would love to eventually go to Germany or Italy or China for the cultural experience, but this year I am really feeling like having fun and what better place to do that than Dubai, right? Wrong? I am not asking for advice on what to do more than I am asking whether I should do this trip or consider somewhere else Let me know. Thanks.
