6+ Week Road Trip in Western US. Looking for Advice!
My boyfriend and I are planning a road trip starting April 1. We are going to Regina for Easter and then are heading down to Palm Desert to see family (need to be there by April 15th at the latest). Here is the route I am thinking after a bit of research but am looking for any feedback before I set anything in stone.
-The numbers on the map are just places that I found on various blogs and websites (not the route we are following). Obviously some will be missed based on route but if you have any suggestions that are a bit out of the way I would love it hear them. -Road route is not set in stone, just thought it made sense so any thoughts would be awesome. -Want to see lots of national parks and don't have a huge interest in any cities with the exception of some places in California. -Have never been to California so we will be spending lots of time here (3 weeks?). Please let me know if you have any can't miss ideas. We would also like to stop for maybe a week somewhere in Cali for a rest but somewhere a bit cheaper would be a great. -Budget is not a huge concern but this is a long trip so would love to hear accommodation ideas and food that are reasonable. We will likely be staying mostly in motel/hotels/airbnb. -Other interests include: Photography, Stargazing, Hiking, Exploring Small towns, Scenic Drives -Trip will likely be around 6 weeks, need to be back by June 1 at the latest.
Thanks for any feedback or suggestions you have. Tried to provide lots of information but let me know if I missed anything.
