Roadtripping from Southern California to Flagstaff at the end of the month. I hate driving through the desert. Are there any other interesting routes I can take that won’t be more than 10 hours?
I find driving through the desert soul sucking - my preferred driving spots are all in the mountains. Yes, I have podcasts and audio books, but doing nothing but staring straight ahead and never turning the wheel takes all the fun out of it for me.
Are there any routes I can take that will let me spend as little time in the desert as possible? I know the shortest route only takes 7 hours, but I’m totally willing to go up to 10 hours to avoid as much of the desert as I can.
Any help would be appreciated! If nothing can be done about it, oh well, I’ll just endure.
