Currently residing in Mumbai, most of my trekking gear has been collecting dust :/. Been considering a 2 week solo trek in the Himalayas (late-Dec). Since I'm on a budget, I will be travelling by train and bus. If I'm going to Nepal (by train) , I'm hoping to take a 1-2 day break and explore an Indian state (maybe Rajasthan?)

Any recommendations on the trek? Also, would appreciate any info on whether it would be possible to explore any Indian state while I'll be on my way to Nepal. It feels stupid to travel all the way to Nepal from Mumbai (by public transport) and not visit any place on the way :P

I would say I have intermediate experience in trekking, have trekked for 15-16 hours at a stretch (due to bad weather conditions). I would love to meet new people from around the world and make new travel buddies. So preferably a trek which isn't too lonely and can be preferably done unguided.
