Just booked my first Solo-Trip to Europe - Have 2 questions.

So, this will be my first time going to Europe and my first solo-trip and got a really good ticket price so I jumped on it. I'm staying about a month in Europe and have a rough itinerary of places I want to see (A majority of Greece, Rome, Reykjavik, a couple places in Germany, maybe some other places depending how I feel)

I do have two questions.

  1. Any recommendations on affordable light packable warm jackets?
  2. How important is it to plan out flights, trains, hostel reservations ahead of time? Can I just book a day or 2 in advance? I played around on Google Flights on booking short term flights and it seems pretty cheap to me, so I don't feel that it'd be too costly.
