Inspired by Motorcycle Diaries and Traveled Across SEA on Motorbike

Hello fellow travelers, hope you're doing great!

I would love to share a little inspirational story with everyone here and I hopefully believe that this might motivate someone to take an adventure of their lifetime. Let's start.

Little bit about me

I don't love to talk about me a lot, so I will keep it short. I'm Adrian, coming from a Switzerland. I decided to quit my corporate job in 2015 in order to travel and experience life. In 2015 I took a trip through Europe driving in my car. Total trip was 25000 kilometers and it lasted for 5 months. I've visited all European countries eastern from Switzerland. The next trip I took was in Africa, driving in a jeep from West to the East African coast. During that time, I did a lot of volunteering work helping local communities. I realized that professionals can actually help communities grow using their skill in pro bono projects. After some time in Africa, I decided it's time to visit Asia. I traveled across SEA and visited all countries except Myanmar, but it's high on my list. Right now, I'm working in New Delhi on the pro bono consulting project. In two years I've visited 83 countries.

Most epic journey in my life

I'm just a regular traveler with an adventurous soul and willingness to help people in need with my time and skills. One day during my stay in Vietnam, I was watching a movie called Motorcycle Diaries. To keep it shorter, the plot follows a motorcycle journey of Che Guevarra and his friend through South America. During that journey, these two amazing men had eye-opening experiences that led to revolutions. I was so stunned with the movie that I literally start to think about taking the similar journey for a long time.

My Vietnamese visa was running out and I decided it's a perfect time to have an adventure of my lifetime. I found a guy in Hanoi who was selling an old Honda Win for $200 and I say to myself "now or never". I've bought that motorcycle and without any prior experience driving the motorcycle, I've decided to drive from Hanoi to Luang Prabang that is 1,000 kilometers away.

It was the experience of my life where I endured many obstacles to reach my goal. It definitely toughened me as a person and gave me a new understanding of the world around me.

If you're interested to read more details about this journey, feel free to check it here.

I would love to connect with like-minded people and share creative ideas with you. Cheers! :)
