If you could recommend a lesser known spot in each state to visit, what would you choose?
Thought I'd piggyback off my previous post, except this time aim more towards lesser known spots to visit in each state.
I pointed out Shenandoah National Park, and specifically Old Rag, as one of my favorite spots in Virginia. But Shenandoah is pretty well known, and Old Rag is easily it's most popular hike.
One spot, sticking to Shenandoah for a bit, that probably would not be so well known, even to Virginians, is the swimming hole located off the Overall Run trail. This spot has it all; 3 separate pools of water to swim in, a nice woods setting, and even has mini-waterfalls and a water-slide at the top most pool. It's an easy mile trek each way to this spot, and is a great way to beat the heat.
I'd also recommend hiking Spy Rock...it's grand.
Where would you recommend for your state? Or a state you visited?!
