I'm in a pickle. I've been a lurker of several travel subreddits for quite some time now and I'm hoping someone out there can give me some suggestions.

I have a non-refundable flight booked to Grand Cayman for 12/24-12/31 as I was planning to visit a local friend over the holiday. She has to return to the States unexpectedly for a couple of emergency surgeries and will have an extended recovery, so crashing with her is no longer an option. I'm struggling to find last minute lodging within my budget ($150/night USD) due to the holiday. At this point I would be willing to stay almost anywhere with a bed.

If I can figure out lodging, this would be my first solo travel. I guess I needed a situation just like this to give me a push. Any advice, referrals, anything is appreciated.
