Advice seeking: American set on his first trip to Europe for a month
Backpacking Europe has been a lifelong dream since I was 14, after seeing the TV show The Backpackers (3 Australians who decided to up and go for Europe for a year) plus watching the movie Eurutrip, lol.
Long story short, it's about to be an actual reality in a year. I plan to leave for Europe in either late September to early October of 2018, I'll be in Europe for a month (willing to extend to another week or two if granted). I'll either be leaving from Vancouver or Florida.
I'm still playing with days and map routes so apologies on the vagueness of my trip at the moment, but my plan so far is to start in the UK (preferably Ireland and make my way in the UK, or skip straight to England after Ireland). After that my plan is Netherlands -> Germany -> Austria -> Italy -> France (want to spend some extra time here) -> Spain -> Portugal (big maybe) before flying to Florida, likely from either Spain/Portugal unless flying in from the UK is cheaper.
My budget for all this not including tickets is $3000. So question is, is this feasible as far as routes and budget goes? Would appreciate any help, if anyone (especially Americans) have been out there for a month have anything to chime in please feel free to. I appreciate any feedback and criticism while I still have my mind set early. Thank you!
