Hey guys

I'm soon leaving to spend 6 months in South America, and probably about the same in South East Asia. I love the idea of going carry on only. It saves hassle, check in costs and time. However - do you think it's realistic to do 6+ months travel with only carry on luggage? I guess it makes it easier because I'm only visiting warm climates, and if I do visit colder places I will hire cold weather gear.

From my research, it seems the Osprey Farpoint 40L would be my best bet. What bag do you use if you travel with carry on only luggage for 6+ months of travel?
